Lynn Hock Napoli is a California Artist who has developed her award-winning work over the last 30 years. Lynn comes from 4 generations of Artists. Lynn began her training after a career in Ballet was cut short due to an injury. She approached her Grandmother, Betty McGinnis, who herself was a Signature Artist with Society of Western Artists to share with her how to paint. Her Grandmother guided her on this new journey and recommended she focus on Portraiture and Figure. Lynn also takes joy in capturing other Images.
After her Grandmother passed Her Mentor, Lorraine Walter, A graduate of Otis Art Institute in L.A, Ca. continued her training in oil and introduced her to Pastel. She also sought formal training attending Fresno City College with Anne Scheid. She was then invited to attend a workshop with Nancy Guzik, who gave her the first spot at the Scottsdale Artist's school. Lynn has taken several workshops with other Master Artists to continue her growth as a Fine Artist.
Lynn's paintings truly showcase the beauty of each individual's human spirit. People sense a palpable emotional connection thru Lynn's Level of expertise. She believes the mirror to people's souls are thru their eyes.
Lynn has exhibited locally as well as well as regionally and was accepted to show in The NEW YORK ART EXPO in New York and a small Works show in Australia. She continues to be invited to show.
Lynn has created portraits internationally as far away as San Vito, Sicily.
Lynn is currently a Member of The Portrait Society of America, and California Central Coast Pastel Society. She is currently represented by Studio 74 Gallery in Fresno, Ca and owns her own studio in an 1890's renovated Hayloft Barn surrounded by lush vineyards just South of Fresno, Ca.
Lynn, approaches a painting like a "scientist who is about to create a beautiful miracle". What I mean is she: she studies, she sketches, she does samples, she creates her colors palette, all before Lynn puts paint to canvas to create her beautiful work. Beautiful art is a science, only executed by those with fine skills! Lynn’s portrait art literally “breaths on the canvas”, they are not flat painted photos. If you ask Lynn to paint your loved one, she will capture the love you have for the individual, Lynn is truly a gifted artist!
